昭和49年和歌山県立医科大卒業、大阪大学医学部大学院入学、昭和53年大学院卒業、大阪府立病院腎臓内科（現大阪府立急性期・総合医療センター腎臓・高血圧内科）医員、平成4年同部長、平成24年大阪大学大学院医学系研究科腎疾患統合医療学寄附講座教授（大阪府立急性期・総合医療センター腎臓・高血圧内科部長兼務）、平成27年4月滋慶医療科学大学院大学教授、平成30年4月から同大学研究科長
